At the Park
Milton Country Park is an ideal setting for young people to learn and explore the outdoors. There are a wide variety of habitats such as lakes and woodland, grassland, an orchard and a pond dipping area which provide opportunities for nature walks, water sports, bug hunting and learning about our environment. There is also a permanent orienteering course on site with maps available in advance by contacting the office in advance.
We have a dedicated educational space, the Wild Place, where children can enjoy fire lighting, den building and creative activities and can be used for the delivery of forest school training. We work with Forest School trained instructors to deliver a varied programme of activities see here.

Sports Activities
We work with qualified instructors to deliver a variety of outdoor activities including paddleboarding, canoeing, cycling and triathlon.
Milton Country Park is an accredited school recognised by the British Stand Up Paddleboarding Association (BSUPA). At the park we can provide a quality coaching programme which enables children and adults to learn the skills needed to earn their Ready to Ride or Born to Ride certificate.
Activities can be provided as one-off taster sessions, skills-based courses or summer programmes. Visits are flexible and can be tailored to suit the needs of your group.

Schools Outreach Programme
A key objective of Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust is to deliver a programme of outreach sport development opportunites in the local community. This programme has so far focused on Rowing and Triathlon.
Our Triathlon in Schools programme is now in its 12th year. We currently deliver pre-school or after-school Triathon Clubs in eight schools and employ four qualified Triathlon Coaches, with over 150 children now receiving a coached session during term-time. This programme is supported by Triathlon England and Cambridge Triathlon Club. As well as having a positive influence on healthy lifestyle choices the pathway provided has enabled a number of children to progress from our school clubs into the Club & International representation structure of the sport. The outcomes of this development work are therefore significant and the programme is recognised as a unique model of good practice at a national level.
In terms of Rowing we currently work in partnership with Rob Roy Boat Club, Cambridge to provide a range of Rowing & Sculling based opportunities.
We aim to broaden our outreach programme into other sports and welcome enquiries from local schools. For more information please contact: mcp@cambridgesportlakes.org.uk or call 01223 420060.
